The LANTDIV RAC contract is to perform Design-Build and Operations and Maintenance support for the Atlantic Division of the Navy. FSSI has/is performing at nine facilities and to date have exceeded 20 Delivery Orders. We are currently in our second option year with over $25 million dollars of work committed.
Services provided by FSSI have included; plan preparation, design-build, construction and Operations and Maintenance of remedial treatment systems. Services within the above categories include treatment system expansion, excavate and treat/disposal of soils, Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) support, site closure, community relations, expansion of utilities, reclamation of system reconfiguration to treat alternate waste streams.
The work has been primarily centered on remediation of sites with organic and inorganic soil constituents that are sampled, screened, pre-treated, if necessary, transported and disposed of and then backfilled to specifications for development. Typically there is multiple agency coordination required for approvals and closure. The work areas have been in active portions of the respective bases and have required coordination with base operations.
Partnering with our clients has been integral with our success and a driver for our multiple awards at same facilities. On more than one occasion we have had to stop operations and adjust for ordinance. In conjunction with our partners, both Navy and other contractors, we have efficiently adjusted our plans, obtained necessary approvals and minimized schedule impacts.
The operation and maintenance of equipment has included systems that treat air, water and soil. We have maintained various discharge permits, many of which are outfalls to surface waters.
