Field Support Services, Inc. (FSSI) is a 100% Alaska Native owned for profit company. By virtue of its status as an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC), it is eligible for the special programs and services provided by the United States government to Indian Tribes. Through the Small Business Administration's (SBA) 8(a) Business Development program, Congress has allowed Native American organizations and Native American owned economic enterprises the maximum opportunity to participate in performing contracts awarded by federal agencies. Under 13 CFR 124.506(b) tribal 8(a)'s may be exempt from the competitive thresholds of $3 million for all other contracts and $5 million for manufacturing contracts. This exemption allows Alaska Native Corporation 8(a) companies to be eligible for sole source consideration of any size contract. |
