Base Operating Support Services
DESCRIPTION::
FSSI performs the base operating support services for the Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS) training facility and U.S. Federal Law Enforcement Training Facility in Charleston, South Carolina. This facility is a critical component of a large DHS recruitment, hiring, and training program for the Federal Law Enforcement, U.S. Coast Guard and Federal Probation Officer program. FSSI’s effort provides personnel to perform the management, supervision and labor services that provides support for a per week requirement that calls for training an average of 500 students and an associated instructional staff. FSSI’s Facilities Management section operates and maintains all infrastructure and utility systems, with necessary work scheduling and control procedures to ensure timely accomplishment of work to support uninterrupted training efforts.
Labor skills required include managers, supervisors, estimators/planners, schedulers, work controllers,and all associated facility trades crafts and laborers. In addition to our facility and grounds maintenance operations, we also provide all Janitorial Services, Food Service, Dormitory Management, Armed Security Services and Student Support Services that includes managing and providing transportation, audio/visual equipment, range master services, armory operations and ammunition storage, gas house range services, role-players for scenario based training, supply and inventory for clothing, and equipment, vehicle fleet management , physical fitness and recreation services, and mail and messenger functions.
