DESCRIPTION:

Logistics Support Operations for the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) White Sands Missile Range (WSMR). FSSI provides all personnel necessary to maintain and manage a warehousing operation for the temporary storage of project and excess materiel, pending disposition. FSSI also operate a shipping, receiving, issue function to include a disposal operation to ensure all excess materials and equipment are properly disposed of or turned back to the government for re-issue. In addition to the warehousing operation FSSI also provides a pickup and delivery service that requires precise timing and coordination with the laboratory users for the movement of materials and equipment to support testing functions throughout the range.

FSSI is responsible for all data input to the Defense Property Accounting System (DPAS) and maintaining the Property Book and inventory control systems. This includes all classified and non-classified related items requires for testing and day-to-day operations.

Unrelated to the Logistics Operations, however as equally important, FSSI provides a contractor escorting service for all ARL maintenance, repair and major construction projects at the White Sands Missile Range.
