DESCRIPTION:
Field Support Services, Inc. is a major subcontractor to the Shaw Group in performance of a prime contract to the U.S. Aviation Center at the Fort Rucker Alabama. FSSI’s role as a major sub-contractor is to provide the leadership, supervision and personnel for the operation of the Ft. Rucker Installation Supply and Services mission.
FSSI operates the Supply Support Activity for all classes of supply except Class VI, VIII, and X for Fort Rucker. This includes managing requisitions, receipts, storageand issue operations, security, disposal, cataloging, data conversion, material management, classification and shipping, transportation, and inventory.
 Areas of responsibility are Installation Base Supply, Central Issue Facility, Installation Property Book Office, Troop Issue Subsistence Activity and Storage Operations. Sub functions include HAZMAT material certification of ammunition shipments, providing advice and assistance to supported units and activities to include training newly appointed Hand Receipt Holders in the proper procedures for requisitioning and reporting accountable items. FSSI personnel also are responsible for acting as the post Department of Defense Activity Address (DODAAC) coordinator. |
